Filmmaker Erik Castro chronicles his life in the documentary "Creating A Photojournalist."

This is an encore presentation of The 707. From the home movies of 1970s Los Angeles to the front lines of modern photojournalism, Erik Castro’s life has always been framed by a lens. In this episode, host Michelle Marques sits down with the Sonoma County-based photographer to discuss his award-winning documentary, Creating A Photojournalist. They explore Castro's unique "double life" as a stay-at-home father and a freelance storyteller, diving deep into how his personal history shapes his professional eye. It is a moving conversation about the evolution of a career, the weight of memory, and the nature of truth. Castro's film is being screened at the end of February 2026 at the Golden State Film Festival in Los Angeles.
