KRCB
Public Television is seeking an intern to assist with
Wine Auction this spring. This provides an excellent
opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about
event management, public relations/marketing, fundraising,
public broadcasting or the nonprofit world.
Duties
would include:
· Writing on-air scripts describing items to
be sold at auction
· Calling donors to follow up on items or images
promised
· Assistance with marketing the event to the
public
· Will likely assist the auction manager and
assistant manager during the event on various tasks
Required:
· Minimum 5 hour weekly commitment; must be
available for at least 3 auction nights: April 25,
26, 27 and May 2, 3, 4
· Good people skills, ability to work under
pressure, and a sense of humor!
· Basic computer skills
Preferred:
· Ability to attend all 6 auction nights strongly
preferred
· Extra availability during our online auction:
Jan 21- Feb 9
· Excellent computer skills

· People management skills
· Driver’s license, access to a car with

Membership
Intern
KRCB Public Broadcasting is seeking a Membership Intern
to assist our Membership Manager and administrative
staff. Members are the glue that holds public broadcasting
together, and this is an opportunity for you to see
how it works!
Duties
may include:
· Preparing mailings
· Assisting in pledge premium fulfillment (the
process by which we make sure our members receive
the gifts they request)
· General spreadsheet data entry
· Assisting in answering phones during pledge
· Calling members as needed
· Assisting with letter writing
· General filing of pledge forms, and other
administrative tasks
Required:
· Trustworthiness and discretion in dealing
with confidential information
· Computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word
or other data entry and word processing knowledge
· Commitment of approximately 5 hours/week
(more is possible)
Preferred:
· Strong writing skills
· Extra availability during pledge, as these
are our big crunch times

Television
Production Intern
The
KRCB Public Television production department is looking
for an intern to provide general production support.
The
Intern will assist with:
· Pre production planning, set design, and
lighting.
· Production in the television studio and in
the field, including camera, audio, switcher, VTR,
and other functions.
· Post production, including video editing
on Final Cut Pro and CMX, graphics creation, tape
dubbing, DVD production, quality control, etc.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Computer proficiency required, Mac OSX a
plus.
· An interest in broadcast television from
a production standpoint.
· A desire for a career in broadcasting.
· Video or film production experience, especially
Final Cut Pro experience, a plus.
Commitment:
12 hours per week. At least one full semester or quarter
for students, or 4-6 months for non-students.

Journalism
Intern
KRCB
is seeking an intern to assist with production of North
Bay Report, a daily feature-length news story on KRCB
Radio and on our website. This is a fantastic opportunity
for anyone interested in learning more about broadcast
journalism, gaining journalism experience, getting hands-on
experience in ProTools or learning more about the day-to-day
operations of a public broadcasting station.
Duties
would include:
• Researching stories and sources
• Contacting sources and scheduling interviews
• Field recording and event coverage
• Audio recording and editing
• Identifying and compiling additional resources
for web page reports
• Maintaining archives, both audio and print
Required:
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience with web-based research
• Basic interviewing skills
• Basic audio equipment operation skills
• Ability to commit to at least 5 hours a week
Preferred:
• ProTools editing and production (will train
the right person)
• Knowledge of digital audio recoding equipment
• Ability to extract sound bites from longer
interviews
• Writing to sound bites
• Proven news judgment
• Ability to quickly understand complex issues
• Experience producing web feature elements

Radio
Production Intern
We
are looking for interns for the Spring 2008 semester
to help with radio production in our studio.
Students
need to have:
• Knowledge of Pro Tools
• Basic Recording Skills
• Basic Editing Skills
We
can work around your schedule Monday – Friday
with flexible hours.
This internship will offer lots of great hands on experience!
The
Internship will include some combination of the following:
•
Board Operator - On-air opportunity. Learn to operate
the board, put programs on the air, voice station
announcements. Weekend morning and evening shifts
available.
•
Sound Recording and Engineering - Engineer on and
off-site recording. Edit programs on ProTools. Basic
understanding of computer editing necessary.
•
Program Archivist-Transfer new programs to website
for "On Demand" listening. Keep archives
up to date. Requires computer and writing skills.
•
Assistant to Music Director - Intake, review and categorize
new CDs of all genres. Familiarity with all categories
of music important. - folk, jazz, alt.rock, etc.
•
Community Calendar Director - Organize and write public
service announcements, create on air calendars of
music and community events.
Ability
to commit to stay on for the summer is a big plus.

Traffic Internship
KRCB
Television Traffic Department is looking for an intern
interested in learning and participating in the day-to-day
workings of a small non-profit public television station.
This position reports directly to the Traffic Department.
The intern would be involved, according to skill, in
the following projects and tasks:
- Log
and time tapes
-
Pull tapes for broadcast in Master Control
-
Assist with tape library maintenance, tape labeling,
database entry, related tasks

Research program information on secure PBS database
-
Other general duties as assigned
Required
technical skills: Incoming interns are expected to have
a working knowledge of the following:
- Microsoft
Word and Excel

Ability to learn proprietary Traffic software (Protrack)
for related duties

Comfortable with VTRs (video tape recorders)
-
Ability to troubleshoot videotape technical issues,
adjustment of video and audio signals

Basic understanding of television broadcast equipment

Must be detail-oriented and meet specific deadlines
Expanded
possibilities: If the inter proves advanced abilities
in the above areas, intern may be assigned higher-level
responsibility in day-to-day Traffic Operations
Availability:
Exact hourly schedule is flexible depending on skills,
interests and class schedule, but could include regular
business hours, weeknights and weekends. Minimum 10
hour weekly commitment.

of Youth Intern
KRCB’s
Voice of Youth is seeking an intern for Spring 2008.
Voice of Youth is our highly acclaimed youth media project,
where we bring youth together for a common cause: taking
to the public airwaves with thoughtful, authentic reflections
of their experience. Together, they gain a respect for
the power of language as they learn how to communicate
effectively and professionally while staying true to
their young, dynamic voices. You have an opportunity
